Clients that love saving money

It's great because one day you get an email saying that Termina has found a few percent extra savings and I haven't done anything.

Joel Scammel

Director @ Super Shine CarWash

Using Termina has been easy and time saving, knowing that our energy bills are constantly being assessed for better rates.

Scope 2 emissions & climate reporting

Validated Scope 2 data for AASB S2 and global disclosure.

Emissions calculated from validated bill data, not estimates. Audit-ready from day one. Ready for AASB S2 (Australia), SECR (UK), XRB CS1 (NZ), and SEC climate rules (US).

Validated, not estimated.

Scope 2 emissions derived from actual bill consumption that's been reconciled against invoice math and contract terms. No proxy data, no industry-average estimates, no "we'll extrapolate it from your spend."

Audit-ready provenance.

Every kWh tracked back to the bill it came from. Validation flags on every field. Auditable line items, structured for AASB S2 Group 1, 2, and 3 timelines under the Corporations Act 2001.

Multi-framework.

AASB S2 location-based emissions for Australian reporting. Equivalent disclosure-ready structures for SECR (UK), XRB CS1 (New Zealand), and SEC climate rules (United States). One data layer, every framework.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the platform.

Answers about how the Termina energy management platform works, what's covered, and what changes when you switch on.

What does the Termina platform include?+

A unified energy data layer covering bills, intervals, tariffs, contracts, and emissions for every site in your portfolio. The platform consolidates data from every Australian retailer and network, validates each bill against invoice math and contract terms, and exposes it through a dashboard for finance and operations teams plus an API for developers. Capabilities include multi-site consolidation, bill validation, emissions reporting, equipment cost tracking, solar and battery monitoring, and procurement optimisation.

How much does Termina's platform cost?+

The platform is free when paired with Termina's energy procurement service. Our savings-split model means we're paid from a portion of the verified savings we deliver, not from retailer commissions or platform subscriptions, so there's no separate platform fee for procurement customers. If you'd rather not couple the platform with procurement, you can still get started for free. Pricing for standalone platform access scales with portfolio size and the features you need — talk to us for an estimate.

How does Termina handle multi-site portfolios?+

Multi-site is the default, not an upgrade. Every feature works across your entire portfolio without manual aggregation. You can view consolidated bills and consumption at the portfolio level, drill down to individual sites, group sites by state, brand, vertical, or any custom dimension, and add new sites without restructuring your data. Termina currently manages 9,000+ commercial sites across Australia, including franchise networks, multi-state retailers, and embedded network operators.

What retailers and networks does Termina support?+

Every major Australian retailer and every DNSP. Retailers include AGL, Origin, EnergyAustralia, Alinta, Energy Locals, ENGIE, Shell Energy, Powershop, Red Energy, Momentum, Sumo, Lumo, GloBird, Tango, and 40+ more. DNSPs include Ausgrid, Endeavour, Essential, Ausnet, Citipower, Powercor, Jemena, Energex, Ergon, Western Power, SAPN, and TasNetworks. Embedded network operators are also supported. Coverage spans NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT, and NT.

Do I need to install hardware to use Termina?+

No. The platform works entirely from bill data and retailer feeds, so there's nothing to install at your sites. This is by design. Hardware-dependent systems take months to deploy across a multi-site portfolio and break whenever you add or switch a site. Termina works the moment you upload your most recent bills.

How does Termina validate energy data?+

Bills are validated against invoice math (do the line items add up to the subtotal? does GST compute correctly?) and against your contract terms (was the agreed rate applied? are demand charges right? is the billing period correct?). Meter identifiers (NMI for AU, ICP for NZ) are checksum-validated. Anomalies are flagged before data enters the platform, so finance, sustainability, and operations teams all work from a clean dataset, and billing errors get caught before they hit the P&L.

Can I export my energy data to BI tools or carbon accounting platforms?+

Yes. The platform supports one-click exports to CSV, Excel, and JSON. For BI workflows, data can be exported to Snowflake, BigQuery, Power BI, and Tableau. For carbon accounting, structured emissions data exports directly to platforms like Avarni, Pathzero, Sumday, Watershed, and Salesforce Net Zero Cloud. For developer workflows, every data point is available via the Termina Energy Data API.

Does the platform support AASB S2 and Scope 2 emissions reporting?+

Yes. Termina delivers location-based Scope 2 emissions calculated from validated bill consumption, with full audit-ready provenance. Each kWh is traced back to the bill it came from, reconciled against invoice math and contract terms. The data structure supports AASB S2 (Australia, mandatory from 1 Jan 2025 for Group 1, with Groups 2 and 3 to follow), SECR (UK), XRB CS1 (New Zealand), and SEC climate rules (United States). Read our guide to mandatory climate reporting in Australia.

What's the difference between the Termina platform and the Energy Data API?+

The platform is the dashboard experience for finance, operations, and sustainability teams. The Energy Data API is the same validated data layer, exposed programmatically for developers and data engineers building energy-aware products, custom dashboards, lending decisions, or ESG-linked offerings. Both run on the same underlying data model and the same validation pipeline. Choose the platform if you want a managed UI; choose the API if you're building something custom on top of the data.

How does Termina handle embedded networks?+

Embedded networks are first-class citizens, not edge cases. Termina parses embedded network bills, reconciles sub-meter readings against the parent meter, and exposes both the gross and net consumption per child site. This works for retail centres, strata-managed buildings, business parks, and any other embedded network configuration. The platform automatically handles the distinction between the embedded network operator's bill and the underlying retailer rate.

What happens to my data history when I switch retailers?+

Your data history stays with Termina regardless of which retailer you're with today. The platform persists bills, consumption, contracts, and emissions across retailer switches, so you don't lose visibility every time you renegotiate. This matters for sustainability reporting (you need 3+ years of consistent data for AASB S2 trend analysis) and for procurement (you need historical context to negotiate the next contract effectively).
